“Master of the Singing Bodhran", David
J. Draeger. The singing part is due to his talent for extracting
a wonderful range of timbres from such a simple instrument. It might
help that he makes all of his own tippers himself and markets them
commercially. Dave's affable personality and affection for Northern
Ireland make him an interesting feller to have around... he is especially
fond of Bushmill's whiskey! Dave is quick to point out that the correct
pronunciation of his drum rhymes with "moron".
Dave Draeger, Born in Minnesota and grew up in Tennessee, Dave was strongly influenced Irish, bluegrass and early American music. It has been a his absolute pleasure to share the stage with such great performers as Mike Wallace, Peter Yeates, Steve Mulligan, Paddy O’Brien, Larry Nugent, Sean Conway, Darren Crossey, Leslie Rich, Pete McCauley and Michelle MacGregor. Dave has recorded with The Hounds of Finn, The Langer’s Ball and Kia Cashman. Dave is one of the few artisans that still hand turn Bodhran Tippers and markets them on the internet. His tippers can be seen at www.besttippers.com |
